NaturalBloom is a Catholic NFP app, built by a practicing Catholic family. We chart our own cycles with it. We built it because the natural-method tools our NFP circle kept recommending were either calendar-only apps wearing NFP clothing, or pen-and-paper charts that hadn't really moved in twenty years — and we wanted a charting app that took the actual method, and the families who use it, seriously.
To be clear about what that does and doesn't mean: NaturalBloom carries no imprimatur and isn't an official product of the Church or any apostolate. It is simply an app made by a Catholic family, for families who practice NFP, that will never ask you to do anything at odds with the Church's teaching on responsible parenthood and openness to life. It records the natural signs your body already gives and helps you read them — nothing more, nothing less.
Fertility awareness, practiced well, is a way of respecting how the body is actually made rather than suppressing it. That conviction is why we chart, and it's why we were unwilling to settle for an app that quietly guesses from a calendar and calls it "natural." The sympto-thermal method reads two real, independent signs — waking temperature and cervical mucus — so a couple can make an informed, prayerful decision together each cycle: whether they are trying to conceive, discerning that this isn't the season, or simply learning the language of their fertility. NaturalBloom exists to make that daily charting clear, honest, and private.
NaturalBloom implements the Sympto-Thermal Method per Sensiplan — the same protocol NFPI teaches in the United States. In practice that means:
We picked Sensiplan as our default engine because its published evidence base is the strongest of any natural method (multiple large prospective studies, peer-reviewed), because two independent signals catch each other's mistakes, and because every rule is auditable in plain language inside the app — you can always see why a given day is being called fertile or infertile and disagree with it from a position of knowledge. We wrote up the full comparison against Billings, Creighton, and Marquette inside the app's Learn section as a topic called "Comparing natural methods" — open NaturalBloom on the App Store, install, then tap Learn → Comparing natural methods. (We don't have a public web mirror of Learn topics yet — the content lives entirely in the iOS bundle.)
To find a certified instructor in your tradition, the directories most users start with are:
NaturalBloom is free for 14 days, then a one-time purchase of $19.99 unlocks it for good. No subscription, no auto-converting trial that quietly starts billing you, no upsell. Family Sharing is turned on, so your spouse gets the app on their device at no extra cost. Every future update to the iPhone app is included.
If your parish, diocesan family-life office, or instructor network would like to make the app available to a group at once, write to us — we're open to bulk arrangements and will figure something workable. Email hello@naturalbloom.app.
Cycle data — temperatures, mucus, intimacy, notes — is stored locally on the phone. There is no account, no cloud sync (yet), and no servers holding the data you log. We do not ship third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The full privacy policy spells out the few third parties we do interact with (Apple/Google billing, RevenueCat for purchase verification) and what they do and don't see.
If you teach NFP and would like to review the app, write to us at hello@naturalbloom.app with a brief note about who you teach with. Process: purchase the app on the App Store, forward us the Apple receipt, and we'll reimburse you. We don't have an in-house promo-code system yet (Apple's promo-code pool is small and tightly rationed), so a receipt-reimbursement loop is the most honest path we have today.
If you teach or chart with NaturalBloom and spot something the app gets wrong about the method — a rule it applies too loosely, a corner case it misses, copy that would mislead a learner — please email us. We read every note. Several of the v1.0.4 changes came from instructor feedback on the v1.0 charting copy.
It was built by a practicing Catholic family and is designed for couples who practice natural family planning. It carries no imprimatur and isn't an official product of the Church, but nothing in it conflicts with Church teaching on responsible parenthood — it simply records and interprets the natural signs your body already gives.
The sympto-thermal method per Sensiplan — the same double-check protocol taught by NFP International and the Couple to Couple League. It confirms ovulation with the 3-over-6 temperature rule cross-checked against your peak mucus day, and keeps the fertile window open until both signs agree.
NaturalBloom speaks Sensiplan. You can import charts from other systems, but they are translated into the sympto-thermal view. It is not a Marquette monitor app, a Creighton stamps chart, or a Billings portal.

Yes. Everything you log stays on your own device. There is no account, no server holding your data, and no advertising or analytics SDKs. The optional partner view shares only a read-only summary through your own iCloud.
Yes — email hello@naturalbloom.app. Purchase the app, forward us the Apple receipt, and we will reimburse you. We read every note instructors send about how the app handles the method.
